Nike Inc.  (contracted through ProdX Inc. May 2000-May 2001)  Beaverton, OR

May 2000 – Present

·         Maintained system availability for Nike Supply Chain project.  Coordinated system downtimes with the business side of Nike.  On call 24/7 for any system related issues, required to carry cell phone and pager.

·         Wrote shell scripts for automation of repeated tasks and application startup on server boot.

·         Interviewed new candidates for hire.  Trained and assigned tasks to new hires.

·         Monitored system performance and recommended software patches and/or hardware upgrades.  Scheduled and implemented OS level patches.  Recommended hardware sizing for new application environments.

·         Wrote process documentation for cross team application installs, support, disaster recovery and application transports.

·         Created secure application environments through scheduled audits, specific permissions/groups and release management.  Collaborated with security team to set new standards and test new tools.

·         Primary responsibilities included: Exchange 5.5 postmaster, primary tape backup operator (including offsite storage), and sole person in charge of security permissions on primary and secondary file servers.

·         Engaged in desktop support in response to helpdesk calls or e-mail.  Desktops were configured with NT workstation for the desktops and Windows 95 for the laptops.

        outlined scripts and procedures.  Also updated servers and desktops to Y2K readiness when needed.

·         Assisted in maintaining telecom systems though Sun Unix administration.  Systems included: Periphonics, Aspect (NT) and Davox.

·         Sole owner of documentation creation project for standard procedures.

·         Part of a team that handled phone and e-mail support for Sequent employees worldwide.

·         Worked with other groups as escalation point when necessary.

·         Took on team projects and completed them to resolution.  These include:

           - A software/hardware checkout system for our customers that implemented a bar code reader and database

           - Server and network real-time tracking of uptime, implemented by using What’s Up! Software

·         Maintained internal documentation for success of whole team.

·         Was granted “sudo root” (su2) Unix access on all production machines for duties including: passwd resets, shell environment modification, X windows environment modification, and file manipulation. Also had NT User Manager and Server Manager privileges.

·         Serviced and maintained over 60 domain accounts, using Unix (FreeBSD) for DNS and NT for Web service, and added new domains for new clients.

·         Worked with clients for optimal results while providing on-site technical support.

·         Created monthly reports from hit logs for the client's sites.

·         Tested new products before public release and upgraded hardware and software on new machines as needed.

·         Maintained WWW servers in hardware and software and was Postmaster for all e-mail accounts for the clients.

·         Managed the inbound resources of the company.

·         Supervised other employees in daily duties and was responsible for the training of new employees.
